Message from the Director General

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon our Master, the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family, companions, and all who follow his guidance.

It gives us great pleasure at the Commission of Fatwa and Sharia Affairs to announce the launch of our official website, which we envision as a trusted scholarly platform and a bridge of communication with Muslims across Britain and Europe, at a time when the need for sound fatwas, balanced discourse, and well-grounded juristic opinions—rooted in reality and anchored in the timeless principles and objectives of the Sharia—is more pressing than ever.

This Commission has been established to serve as a reliable reference for the legal and ethical issues that affect the daily lives of Muslims, particularly in matters related to family, divorce, marriage, financial transactions, general fatwas, and questions of halal consumption in food and medicine. Our work is grounded in a scholarly methodology that upholds moderation, balance, and evidence-based facilitation, integrating the authenticity of Islamic tradition with a conscious awareness of contemporary realities.

We are honoured to collaborate institutionally and academically with both the Al-Azhar Global Center for Electronic Fatwa and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy. The Commission also operates under the direct scholarly supervision of Professor Dr. Qais Al-Sheikh Mubarak, former member of the Senior Council of Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a recognized authority in Islamic jurisprudence known for his knowledge, balance, and scholarly integrity.

We firmly believe that issuing fatwas is a sacred trust, and that having them delivered by credible and qualified bodies is a safeguard for the Muslim community and a source of confidence for all those seeking to understand their faith and fulfil the divine intent in their personal and communal affairs.

We pray that Allah grants us success in serving Islam and Muslims, and that He makes this platform a beacon of guidance, a means of constructive communication, and a source of knowledge, understanding, and mercy.

Allah is the source of all success.
